Sam Thompson breaks silence after split from Zara McDermott

1 day ago 6

After his break up with Zara McDermott, former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, 32, has opened up on social media.

The couple, who began their relationship in 2019, shared a luxurious London pad and were devoted pet parents to their cats while residing next door to Sam's sister, Louise Thompson.

However, following a holiday season spent apart, Sam and Zara have parted ways reports the Mirror. Addressing the split, Sam shared an uplifting video on his Instagram on Monday, setting a positive tone: "Good morning for us all incoming."

On his Instagram, he commented on the dreary weather but reassured his followers by saying, "but I feel you're going to have a really good day. You're going to have a really good week - and I'm never wrong."

It comes after a recent video he posted on Instagram where he touted 2025 as the "best year ever" despite his recent breakup. Sam is seen strolling down the street proclaiming: "New year! 2025 baby come on let's have it! I can't wait. The New year is going to be amazing and you're going to have the best year ever. And you know I'm always right."

He concludes the motivation-boosting clip with a kiss towards the camera. I'm A Celeb champion Sam welcomed the new year by celebrating at Kensington Roof Gardens in London with his former MIC castmates, Reza Amiri-Garroussi and Josh Patterson. On the flip side, Zara chose to stay home with their feline friends.

The week prior, Sam devoted Christmas Day to distributing gifts and helping out a charity, as Zara joined her family for the festivities in Essex. Despite rumours swirling of a rift, Zara impressed with a duo of bespoke paintings commissioned for Sam's Christmas present.

Showing off the artwork, the Love Island alum shared: "Sam's Xmas pressie from me! I wanted to get something super meaningful so I had these paintings made... they look a bit random but they are all the meaningful things he loves. They're by @brittyflynn she's absolutely incredible."

In November, Sam jetted off to Australia to film the latest installment of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! whilst Zara remained in the UK, prompting fan speculation about the distance between them. Addressing the issue, Zara took to Instagram for a Q&A session, answering one fan's curiosity with: "How come you didn't go with Sam to Australia?"

Zara explained: "You guys are funny. I've had this question so many times! Well firstly I'm filming my documentary about stalking at the moment and it's really not possible to take time off filming at short notice. Sam's show only got confirmed last month. I am working with some amazing women. It wouldn't feel right, and I wouldn't want to just pull out of filming and let everyone down, especially the brave women who have come forward to share their stories with me. Secondly; Sam has to get up for work at 1am every day, it's a closed set so I wouldn't be able to go to work with him. I'd just be sat at the hotel while he's working."

Over the summer, there were rumours that Zara and Sam were in "crisis talks" about their relationship following a significant argument which led to Zara leaving their London home temporarily.

In June, they were spotted in the midst of an intense exchange, with Zara seemingly yelling at Sam. She later clarified the situation, stating she was "telling him positive affirmations in a very passionate manner".
