Sam Thompson has broken his silence following his split from Zara McDermott.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 32, had been in a relationship with Love Island's Zara, 28, since 2019 and lived together in a lavish London home. They share beloved cats and live next door to his sister Louise Thompson, yet their romance has come crashing down. Sam and Zara called time on their relationship after spending Christmas and New Year apart.
Following the news of their split, Sam took to Instagram on Monday morning to share a motivational video with his fans, captioning it: "Good morning for us all incoming." Speaking on his Instagram Stories, Sam discussed the rainy weather with his followers before declaring "but I feel you're going to have a really good day. You're going to have a really good week - and I'm never wrong."
In the video, Sam goes on to say: "Lets have it! And there is a new episode of Stayin' Relevant out, so check that out. Pete's in a good mood for this one." It comes after he posted a video to his Instagram where he bragged about 2025 being the "best year ever" in the wake of his split. He shares a cheery video with his followers. In the animated clip, Sam walked along a street as he said: "New year! 2025 baby come on let's have it! I can't wait. The New year is going to be amazing and you're going to have the best year ever. And you know I'm always right." He ended the clip by kissing his camera.
I'm A Celebrity winner Sam rang in the new year by partying at London's Kensington Roof Gardens with former Made in Chelsea co-stars Reza Amiri-Garroussi and Josh Patterson. Meanwhile Zara had stayed at home with their cats. A week earlier, Sam had been handing out presents and volunteering for a charity on Christmas Day, while Zara spent the time in Upminster, Essex, with her family.

PA)Amid speculation of a fallout, Zara showed off an impressive duo of paintings that she had specially commissioned for Sam as a gift. The Love Island star said: "Sam’s Xmas pressie from me! I wanted to get something super meaningful so I had these paintings made… they look a bit random but they are all the meaningful things he loves. They’re by @brittyflynn she’s absolutely incredible."
Sam headed Down Under in November as he worked on the latest series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. However, Zara opted to stay in the UK and faced questions from fans about the distance between them. She spoke about the circumstances in a Q&A on Instagram after a fan asked: "How come you didn't go with Sam to Australia?"
Zara said: "You guys are funny. I've had this question so many times! Well firstly I'm filming my documentary about stalking at the moment and it's really not possible to take time off filming at short notice. Sam's show only got confirmed last month. I am working with some amazing women. It wouldn't feel right, and I wouldn't want to just pull out of filming and let everyone down, especially the brave women who have come forward to share their stories with me. Secondly; Sam has to get up for work at 1am every day, it's a closed set so I wouldn't be able to go to work with him. I'd just be sat at the hotel while he's working."
Over the summer, it was claimed the couple were having "crisis talks" about their relationship. Zara and Sam reportedly had a massive row, with the former Love Island star walking out of their London pad and heading to her family's home for a while. In June, the pair were seen locked in a row as Zara appeared to shout at Sam. However, she shut down speculation as she said she was "telling him positive affirmations in a very passionate manner".
