Samsung has been doing a lot of fine-tuning with photos and videos on the Galaxy S lineup. With the Galaxy S25, Samsung is introducing Galaxy Log, which makes use of a tried and true format for recording video.
Samsung offers a lot of tools for video work that makes its Galaxy phones good for recording content. The company has made a lot of effort in the past to be that OEM that develops devices great for recording YouTube videos or clips for other social apps.
To push the Galaxy lineup further as a go-to option for creators, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S25 series will have “Galaxy Log.”
Galaxy Log is a proprietary way of labeling an existing format known as LOG. The LOG format is similar to RAW in that it captures video with minimal processing so that further color correction can be applied later. What makes LOG useful is that it can be viewed on an external monitor easily, even though it takes on very little processing during capture. The format results in a video that looks completely void of saturation. The end result is much easier for creators to work with as a basis for their specific color correction needs. Shooting in LOG also means that more dynamic range is available for the editor, which can be useful in a lot of scenarios.
Galaxy Log comes as Samsung adds other features to the camera suite, like virtual aperture and portrait studio.
The Galaxy S25 is officially available to pre-order starting at $799 for the S25. It looks like Galaxy log will be available on all three models of the Galaxy S25.
