Whoopi Goldberg celebrated her 69th birthday on “The View” Wednesday and things took a wild turn while she was promoting some of her favorite products.
As her co-host Sara Haines approached a giant wheel of cheese with Goldberg’s face on it, the actress said she “always wanted” her face printed on cheese.
Then, the EGOT winner unashamedly admitted, “I like to be eaten from time to time,” as seen in a clip later shared on X.
Haines’ eyes immediately widened before she jokingly walked off of the set in response to Goldberg’s tongue-in-cheek remark.
Meanwhile, the audience laughed and cheered in response to the “Sister Act” star’s confession.
Goldberg’s jaw then dropped as she played coy while Haines returned to the set and hugged her.
“Nevermind!” Goldberg quipped, as she also waved her hand to dismiss the joke.
The TV personality couldn’t seem to contain her amusement and went on to chuckle while talking about the cheese on the table.
“This is a wheel of authentic Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy, and this has been aged for 24 months and it’s a testament to Italian tradition and quality,” Goldberg said.
“So if you’d like a chance to win a wheel just like this –,” Goldberg continued before Haines interjected with “and eat Whoopi Goldberg!”

Goldberg continued to play along, replying, “That’s right! No – and eat yourself!”
She even suggested that the live audience members could make their own custom wheels of cheese by adding their faces to it.
Elsewhere during the same episode, Joy Behar gifted Goldberg some of her famous lasagna to commemorate the special day.
“Joy makes the greatest lasagna ever and you know you’ve heard us talk about it,” Goldberg said in a clip shared via the show’s Instagram.
Behar, 82, famously makes the Italian dish each year for Goldberg’s birthday.
“And now everyone else wants it made for their birthday!” Goldberg said.
