Some of Saturday Night Live‘s most notable alums share cherished memories in the trailer for Peacock‘s four-part docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night.

Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Dana Carvey, Jimmy Fallon, Amy Poehler, Tracy Morgan and Andy Samberg are among the famous former castmembers who appear in the promo for the project that streams Jan. 16. Creator Lorne Michaels‘ long-running NBC sketch comedy series premiered Oct. 11, 1975, and is currently airing its 50th season.

“My first audition, I threw up,” Samberg admits in the trailer. At a different point in the footage, Fey says about SNL, “It is built on competition.”

One of the four episodes centers on the 2000 sketch entitled “More Cowbell,” while another episode focuses on the problematic season 11 that came close to getting the program canceled despite such prominent castmembers as Robert Downey Jr., Randy Quaid and Joan Cusack.

“This is beyond my wildest dreams that you’re making a documentary about the cowbell sketch,” Fallon says in the trailer.

“I’ve been obsessed with Saturday Night Live as long as I can remember,” SNL50 executive producer Morgan Neville said in a statement. “For SNL50, I’ve been lucky to collaborate with some of my favorite independent filmmakers to tell some deeper stories of SNL. Taken together, these standalone episodes give a new perspective of SNL and what makes it work.”

SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night is part of a string of projects celebrating SNL’s 50th anniversary. Debuting Jan. 27 on NBC is Ladies & Gentleman… 50 years of SNL Music, while a live primetime special can be seen Feb. 16 on NBC and Peacock.
