When the Seattle Seahawks take the field this weekend against the New York Jets, they will do so with two of their more crucial players active. Both DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett have been taken off the injury report and are good to go for this weekend.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the news on social media.

Seattle is currently fighting for their playoff lives so this news is massive for their chances this weekend. Having both star wide receivers on the field should give the Seahawks a big boost heading into this crucial game.

While the Jets haven't been very good this year, they can't be taken for granted. New York still has plenty of weapons on the offensive side of the ball and a veteran quarterback in Aaron Rodgers who can go off in any given contest.

Seattle having both playmakers for this game drastically changes the likely outcome. The Seahawks rely on Metcalf and Lockett to help the offense run smoothly and effectively each week out.

Metcalf was listed as a non-participant on the injury report on Thursday. But now he has been given the green light to play this weekend.

The veteran is among the more physical wide receivers that the NFL has to offer so his presence will be massive. On the year, Metcalf has caught 46 passes for 697 yards and three scores.

As for Lockett, he has been dealing with a knee injury. Neither wideout has logged any on-field work this week so there were questions about whether they would play or not.

Lockett helps spread the entire field out with his speed, playing a nice complimentary piece to Metcalf. For the season, Lockett has caught 38 passes for 495 and two scores.

The Seahawks offense has been very up-and-down this season but the team is looking to finish the year strong. They currently hold a record of 6-5 for the year and are tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the lead atop the NFC West division.

Seattle just took down the Cardinals last week, giving them a slight edge in the division race. The two teams have another matchup coming next week, with the scene shifting over to Glendale, Arizona.

The winner of that game will likely take control of the division, with the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams struggling to keep up behind them. If Seattle can take down the Jets this weekend, it could give them a boost in their hopes to get back to the postseason.
