Sebastian Stan has just scored himself his first ever Oscar nomination.
The actor, who rose to fame starring as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel franchise, was nominated in the best actor category for his role as Donald Trump in The Apprentice.
And while an Oscar nod is something most actors dream of, it seems Stan has been waiting for this moment for a long time.

More than a decade ago, the actor shared a snap of his old high school yearbook on Instagram
The 42-year-old actor graduated high school back in the year 2000, and while many don't live up to their superlative, Stan could be about to fulfill his.
All the actors who just scored their first Oscar nominations
"Most likely to be in the bathroom fixing his hair when he receives his first Oscar," read Stan's superlative alongside a sweet image of his mum holding him as a baby.
"Well...yeah. #highschoolyearbook2000," Stan captioned the post made back in 2014.

Now, Stan has some tough competition in the Best Actor category this year.
He's up against Timothee Chalamet for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, Adrien Brody who stars as a visionary architect in The Brutalist, Ralph Fiennes who plays the dean of the college of cardinals in Conclave, and Colman Domingo for his portrayal of a wrongly imprisoned author in Sing Sing.
But, that's not to say Stan won't take out the prize; his performance as Trump has been praised by critics and fans alike.

Despite the prediction in his yearbook, it's likely Stan will be firmly planted in his seat when the award gets announced.
It is his first time nominated, after all, and who would want to miss their potential first Oscar win?
But, if he did want to have some fun with it, Stan has the potential to do something great here and pull a Renee Zellwegger, heading to the bathroom right as his category is announced.

Of course, he would emerge with flawless hair and it would be an adorable nod to his high school classmates of 25 years ago who gave him that superlative, but we doubt it will happen.
Nonetheless, the sweet throwback is a nod to just how far Stan has come in his career, from Marvel villain-turned-hero to an Oscar nominated star.
