In the new issue of RSVP Home, Lisa Jordan invites us inside her stunning new house in her native Cork and opens up about her childhood home, the first house she ever bought, and the three-year-long process to finally secure her forever home.
Speaking about her new-found love for interiors, Lisa said she is embracing the fun and exciting challenge of decorating her dream home.
“I’ve really fallen in love with interior design and it feels like a new chapter in my life. I’m still a mum and into fashion and make-up and while I’ve always loved interior design, I feel like I’ve never had a chance to explore that until now.
“I love to inspire people and if I can help one person choose a paint colour or give them an idea for a room they’re decorating, I’ll be happy. I know myself it can be very hard to make the right decision, so I’d love to help people with that”.
Anyone who has taken on a renovation project knows finding good, reliable and well-priced suppliers is often the biggest task. Lisa says she has learned the hard way about getting multiple quotes for each job, but she has also made connections with brilliant companies and tradespeople along the way.
“I’ve met so many great companies, Celtic Interiors were a huge part of the kitchen. Genie Griffin from The Wood Genie has been a really important person in the project. He did a lot of my carpentry, panelling and flooring and he’s doing the dining room at the moment. He helps me with project managing as well, from a building perspective.
“Porta, the door company, made the steel doors, which are such a feature. Jane from Station House Interiors was so amazing in doing our bootroom and TV units. Diamond Furniture and Browsers are my favourites for furniture”.
