Selena Gomez was forced to apologise after a recent slip up regarding P Diddy.
A her recent Rare Impact Fund benefit in Los Angeles, the 32-year-old founder of the makeup brand took to the stage to address the audience. Gomez addressed her charity’s mission and their work with the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services to prevent suicide among young people.
As she introduced the woman named Didi Hirsch, Selena accidentally pronounced her name as Diddy according to TMZ. They reported: “She then flubbed her next line while introducing the executive director [...] to the stage, accidentally saying ‘Diddy’ because their names are [so] similar.”

The outlet claimed that “the crowd picked up on Selena’s error” and began to laugh, however she was quick to correct herself. The Wizards of Waverly Place actress apologised and said: “I am really sorry.”
TMZ reported: “Soon, Diddy was all forgotten and the event went forward with no other issues.” Diddy has been linked to Selena’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, who worked closely with the rapper and even attended his famous parties as his fame began to skyrocket at the start of his career.
P Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was arrested on 16 September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has “categorically denied” all the charges made against him.
Gomez has previously recalled a bizarre encounter with the rapper which happened while she was dating Justin. Back in 2016, she spoke about how Diddy mistook her for someone working for the car valet service.
She told GQ: “[...] When P Diddy gave me his valet ticket once, do you know what I mean?” Interviewer Zach Baron had no idea what she meant, so the actress explained: “Because he thought I was the valet lady!”
He exclaimed: “What?!” as Gomez continued: “Look, I see all of it. I don’t care, I actually laughed hysterically when it happened, but I get it. I know what all of it is.”
