Jason Oppenheim makes gesture amid Los Angeles fires

Jason Oppenheim, star of Netflix's Selling Sunset, has pledged to assist Los Angeles residents displaced by the recent wildfires.

In a video shared on social media, Oppenheim announced that his real estate brokerage, The Oppenheim Group, will offer free representation to those affected, waiving any commissions for clients who have lost their homes. He emphasised the importance of real estate agents supporting their community during such crises.

In the heartfelt Instagram video, Jason said: "I woke up this morning to a lot of friends and clients reaching out because they've lost their homes and they need help with places to live now. Their families are displaced and as real estate agents we obviously have an obligation to help them find a place even when it's going to be difficult with thousands of people looking for places and not nearly as many houses available.

"The Oppenheim group is offering to represent anybody for free or we will credit you back in a commission paid if you've lost your house and are now displaced. We will help you find a place and do our best to help you find a place to rent. Real estate agents need to come together and work hard for the community. This is our time to be able to give back so reach out to us and everyone stay safe."

Jason's caption reaffirmed the same sentiment stating: "If you’ve lost your home in the Los Angeles fires and you need to find a place to rent until your home is rebuilt, all Oppenheim Group agents will represent you for free or credit you back any commission we receive in the transaction. Please reach out to us at office@ogroup.com."

Selling Sunset star Davina Potratz commented: "Yes, ready to serve." Polly Brindle, from spin-off Selling the OC, wrote: "We are ready to help down in OC!," alongside a heart emoji. Another Realtor, inspired by Jason, commented: "I’ll match this if anyone comes to San Diego. Good man, @jasonoppenheim!"

The tragic events have seen thousands of homes destroyed, including those of a number of celebrities. Paris Hilton took to social media to share the news she watched her house burn to the ground on live TV. Now, a number of unnamed famous faces are said to be desperately trying to book rooms at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Sources claim celebrities had arrived in Teslas and Bentleys wearing just the clothes they had on when they fled their lavish homes.

It's thought across LA, five star hotels such as The Peninsula, the Four Seasons, Sunset Tower, L’Ermitage and the Bel Air remain sold out, despite rooms going for upwards of $1,000 (£819) per night. While none of the hotels have revealed who is staying with them, Kathy Hilton is said to have been spotted at the Beverly Hills Hotel's Polo Lounge, according to Mail Online.

The outlet also claims Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have reportedly been sighted at The Peninsula, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis allegedly. A source told the publication how the Art Deco Sunset Tower had 'felt like Titanic'. "We have the music, the cocktails, the lovely food, the fine linens, the piano player," they said. "But this awful tragedy is unfolding and people have lost everything and no one knows what they are going home to. It’s very sad."
