Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco Think Drake Trash Talking DeMar DeRozan Hints at ‘War Part Two’ in Kendrick Beef

On a recent episode of Nightcap, Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson addressed Drake's recent trash talk against Sacramento Kings player DeMar DeRozan, who made a cameo in Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" video earlier this year.

When Sharpe recapped the situation, Ocho asked why the two were beefing. "I think he was in Kendrick Lamar's video," replied Sharpe. "And DeRozan used to play for the [Toronto] Raptors," added Ocho. "So Drake probably thought they were kind of cool or something, huh?" Sharpe added, "They were."

Ocho said that he understands why Drake feels the way he does about DeMar DeRozan, because the NBA star needs to "pick a side" in the beef between Drizzy and K Dot. Sharpe pointed out that Drake unfollowed LeBron James on social media too, assumedly because he showed up to Kendrick's 'Pop Out' concert in Los Angeles.

"You know what that mean now? It ain't over," Ocho continued. "It might be war part two. So everybody that offended me and took sides with my enemy, I'm coming to see you." Sharpe pointed out that Drake and DeRozan have been friends for a long time and grew up in the same city, which is why he would feel more of an allegiance to K Dot over the 6 God.

"I think Drake is looking at it like, 'Damn, everybody done went against me,'" said Sharpe. "I kind of felt that Drake probably would feel some type of way after DeRozan was on stage with K Dot."

"I like this, though, this good for basketball, it's good for the culture," Ocho said. "Now I'm excited. ... Who else on the hitlist? ... Y'all boys go to war, just keep it with the pen, keep it with the trash talk. Nothing outside of that. Make it entertaining, make it fun. I'm all for it. I love all them boys, man."

Sharpe and Ocho said that they aren't taking any sides in the beef, but as long everyone involved keeps it to words and stays clear of violence, they're on board with it from an entertainment stance.

Last week, DeRozan and the Kings returned to Toronto to play against his former team, which retired Vince Carter's jersey. Drake joked, "If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself." In a post-game press conference, DeRozan replied, "He's gonna have a long way to climb to take it down." During the game, Drake also threw out several insults at the former Raptors player, including calling him a "goof" and "pussy."

DeRozan previously indicated that he was still cool with Drake, despite appearing in the "Not Like Us" video. "Drake's still my man, still my man, none of it changed," DeRozan told the Sacramento Bee. "It's so easy to get overlooked and look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day it's music, entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint, and they battled it out."
