Sharon Stone's honest nine-word verdict on living next to Harry and Meghan

Hollywood star Sharon Stone has lifted the lid on what it's like living next door to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently been in the firing line after ex-staff members alleged they turned a blind eye to "distressing" accusations against them.

A recent report suggested that Meghan, 43, had been "awful" towards staff when things didn't go her way.

A source recently suggested that Meghan and Harry, 40, "don't know what change the world means" following the cancellation of their Spotify podcast series, Archetypes.

To commemorate five years since their decision to step back as senior working royals, Vanity Fair published an article featuring insights from individuals who have worked closely with the Royal couple, now based in California.

According to the report, since relocating to Montecito in Santa Barbara County, the pair have gained the nicknames "the prince and the starlet" as well as "local villains" because their presence is attracting outsiders to the town.

As a result, securing walk-in bookings at a top local steakhouse has become nearly impossible.

Drawing a comparison to Princess Diana's humanitarian work before her tragic death in 1997, the source added, "Diana walked amongst land mines. Meghan couldn't even say the word sl*t".

The insider also suggested that Meghan and Harry "want to be people who are looked at as people who want to change the world.", reports the Mirror.

Now Sharon Stone's comments have re-emerged, five years after the couple's move to the US for a more independent life.

In 2020, Stone remarked: "The thing about them, which is so great, is that they didn't come here to live off of our community, they came here to be a part of our community."

"They're a part of our community, they become a part, a giving, caring, participating part of our community. They're not here, like 'Would you like to kiss my butt? '"

Elsewhere, Vanity Fair labelled Prince Harry as a "hapless if well-meaning man", who reportedly mulled over interviewing controversial figures such as Vladimir Putin.

Harry is quoted by the magazine saying: "I have very bad childhood trauma. Obviously. My mother was essentially murdered. What is it about me that didn't make me one of the bad guys?"

The piece also suggested that Meghan Markle could be "really, really awful" to Royal household staff, despite her initial "warm and effusive" demeanour post-wedding.

As relations soured, the former Suits star reportedly turned "cold and withholding toward the person she perceived to be responsible" for mishaps.

Additionally, it's claimed that Meghan had a habit of berating staff in a controlled tone on "any given Tuesday". Insiders allege that difficulties often arose from Meghan and Harry's own exacting standards.

The Times has been informed by sources that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex find these claims "distressing".
