Showtime Spy Thriller ‘The Agency’ Gets Premiere Date, Trailer

Showtime‘s drama series The Agency will serve up some spy games on Thanksgiving weekend.

The thriller starring Michael Fassbender as a CIA agent is set to premiere its first two episodes on Paramount+ With Showtime on Nov. 29. The Agency’s on-air debut on Showtime’s cable channel will follow two days later on Dec. 1.

Showtime has also released a trailer for the series (watch it below), which finds Fassbender’s agent, named Martian, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind (Jodie Turner-Smith) reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart, hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.

The Agency’s regular cast also includes Jeffrey Wright, Richard Gere, Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew BrookeHarriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon and Reza Brojerdi. Hugh Bonneville is a guest star, and Adam Nagaitis, Ambreen Razia, Bilal Hasna, David Harewood, Kurt Egyiawan, Ray BLK, Sabrina Wu and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor all have recurring roles.

The series, from Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, is based on the acclaimed French drama Le Bureau des Legendes. Jez and John-Henry Butterworth are the show’s writers, and Joe Wright directed the first two episodes. They executive produce with George Clooney and Grant Heslov (via their Smokehouse Pictures); Nina L. Diaz and Keith Cox of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios; David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin and Bob Yari of 101 Studios; Alex Berger of TOP-The Originals Productions; Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton of Federation Studios/Federation Entertainment of America; and Fassbender.
