Sienna Miller is set to star opposite John Krasinski in the Jack Ryan feature that is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios.
The project is being described as the next evolutionary step to the adventure series that proved to be a hit for the company and will feature several actors from the show reprising their roles, including Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards).
Jack Ryan season two executive producer and director Andrew Bernstein will helm the film, which has a script penned by Aaron Rabin, who served as a co-executive producer and writer on season four.
The show was based on the characters and so-called “Ryanverse,” created by author Tom Clancy, but took place in modern times. It ran for four seasons on Prime Video, where it is ranked among the streamer’s top three most-watched series globally.
Plot details are being kept in deep in the Pentagon, but the story will once again center on the intrepid CIA analyst played by Krasinski. For her part, Miller is playing an MI6 agent, who is basically the British counterpart to Ryan.
The film is being produced in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. The latter’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will executive produce alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse.
Miller was most recently seen on the big screen in Kevin Costner’s two-part Western epic Horizon: An American Saga. The first one opened theatrically June 28 while the second one premiered at the Venice International Film Festival but has yet to hit theaters. Miller also played herself in the final season of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and recently starred in Netflix drama series Anatomy of a Scandal.
Miller is repped by WME, LBI, and UK’s United Agents.
