Skip Bayless has offered his two cents on Lil Wayne's Super Bowl snub.
“Sorry, Lil Wayne should obviously be the Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans,” Bayless tweeted on Sunday.
Back in September, Kendrick Lamar revealed he would headline the Super Bowl Halftime show in New Orleans this February. There was considerable fallout following his announcement, with many celebrities—including Nicki Minaj, Birdman, and Juvenile—outraged that Weezy wasn’t performing at the major sports event in his own hometown.
But Wayne has remained positive about the situation. In mid-December, he revealed that he spoke to Lamar and offered some words of encouragement.
“I've spoken to him and I wished him all the best and told him he better kill it,” Wayne told Bayless in an interview.
Wayne also touched on Kenny’s reference to him in the GNX album cut, “wacced out murals,” where Dot raps, “I used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud/Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.”
“That was my first time hearing it,” Wayne told Bayless. “I think he's a fan, like I'm a fan of his music … He saw with everybody else. He saw how much it meant to me, I think that's all he means.”
He added, "He didn't let me down. It ain't like he can control it or nothing.”
Bayless made headlines earlier this month when a former Fox Sports hairstylist, Noushin Faraji, accused him of sexual harassment during her tenure. In the lawsuit, she specifically alleged that Bayless made advances towards her and that he offered her $1.5 million to have sex with him.
