Sky News presenter Ian King quits after 10 years following absence

Sky News business presenter Ian King has announced he will be leaving the broadcaster next spring after 10 years. Known for his insightful financial reporting and deep connections within the City of London, King has been a mainstay on Sky News' flagship Business Live show.

David Rhodes, Sky News Group Executive Chairman, confirmed the departure in a statement, praising King's contributions: "Ian has been with Sky for ten years, enriching our news coverage with his expertise in finance and his City network. We’re delighted he will continue to contribute to our digital platforms during this time."

King’s absence from Business Live followed the relocation of the studio, with the show recently being presented from Sky’s main newsroom., reports the Mirror. Rhodes added that the business segment remains a core focus for the channel: “We’re increasing our investment in this area, including the highly popular Money Blog. I want to thank Ian for his commitment to Sky News, and we’ll ensure he receives a well-deserved send-off next year.”

Business Live will continue to air weekdays at 11:30am and 4:30pm, providing market reports, global economic updates, and expert commentary. Presenters Paul Kelso and Darren McCaffrey have been leading the program in recent months and will maintain their hosting roles.
