Once-off payment of €100 for each child in respect of whom a Child Support Payment (formerly Increase for a Qualified Child) is in payment Week commencing 25th November 2024 340,000 children

As well as November's payments, there will also be a Christmas bonus paid in the first week of December, and another double Child Benefit payment in December also.

It comes as this week, over a million people are benefitting from an October bonus in which social welfare recipients will receive double their usual rate.

It's being paid during the week of the 28th, but some people may have received their bonus early due to the bank holiday.

Because today is the October bank holiday Monday and banks and post offices are closed, anyone due to be paid today received their payment early on Friday.

However, thousands more people will receive their bonus, which is paid automatically, throughout the rest of the week.

The October Bonus is 100% of your normal weekly payment. The minimum Bonus amount that will be paid is €20.

If an Increase for a Qualified Adult is paid directly to your dependent spouse, civil partner or cohabitant, the October Bonus is also paid directly to them.

If you are getting 2 eligible social welfare payments (for example, a One-Parent Family Payment and the Domiciliary Care Allowance or a half-rate Carer’s Allowance as well as your primary payment) you will get the October Bonus for both payments.

For Domiciliary Care Allowance (DCA), which is paid monthly, the bonus is 100% of the weekly DCA rate. The DCA portion of the bonus is calculated independently of other payments.
