Sof?a Vergara added humor to the 2025 Golden Globes as she reacted to losing her fifth straight nomination to Jodie Foster.
The "Griselda" star, 52, made waves during Foster's acceptance of the Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture-Television award for her performance in HBO's True Detective: Night Country.
Sofia Vergara tired of losing to Jodie Foster
When Foster, 62, took the stage to accept her trophy, Vergara jumped from her seat and jokingly yelled, "No! No! Not again!"
The lighthearted outburst drew laughter from the audience, and Foster responded with an understanding smile, saying, "I know." Vergara added, "Give me one!"-a playful plea that highlighted her long-running award drought.
Foster, unfazed, acknowledged Vergara in her speech.
"The greatest thing about being this age and being in this time is having a community of all these people, especially you, Sofia," she said, pointing at the Colombian actress in the crowd.
The playful rivalry between the two actresses has grown over recent years.
Last year, Vergara lost her Emmy nomination for Griselda to Foster, who won for the same role in True Detective: Night Country.
At the time, Vergara humorously declared, "Me lo robaron" ("They stole it from me") in an Instagram video, cementing her reputation for taking awards-season losses in stride.
Foster's latest win adds to her illustrious career, marking her fifth Golden Globe victory.
She praised her family during her acceptance speech, saying, "To my boys, Kit and Charlie, I love you, and this, of course, is for you. And the love of my life, Alex, thank you forever."
Vergara, meanwhile, remains a fan favorite.
In Griselda, she portrayed Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, earning critical acclaim for her transformation into the complex character.
Though her Golden Globe drought continues, Vergara's vibrant personality and comedic timing made her one of the night's standout moments.
Foster's performance in True Detective: Night Country has been sweeping this awards season, while Vergara continues to showcase her versatility on screen, proving her place among the industry's most dynamic talents.
