Sophie Turner is looking back on the “incredibly sad” demise of her and Joe Jonas’ four-year marriage.
In a recent chat with Lydia Slater for Harper’s Bazaar UK, the Joan star and Game of Thrones alum pointed out that she’s in the middle of “a legal process” at the moment, meaning she can’t discuss the split in detail. Still, she offered a concise reflection on that period of her life, which in some ways caused her to feel like she was living “on pause.” This shifted in a positive direction once she made her return to London.
“I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much, but it was incredibly sad,” Turner told the publication. “We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard.”
This part of the conversation is preceded in the piece with a mention of Turner’s role in the upcoming film Trust, which the actress described as “a very cathartic experience” given that it “mirrored” elements of her then-recent life. Read more here.
Turner and Jones married in Las Vegas in 2019. By late 2023, reports circulated revealing that Jonas had filed for divorce. The former couple share two children together, Willa and Delphine.
In Trust, Turner plays a star who aims to hide out in the wake of a Hollywood scandal by checking into an off-the-beaten-path Airbnb, only for her plans to be terrifyingly ruined. Notably, the film, helmed by The Blazing World director Carlson Young, marks a partnership between Twisted Pictures and Republic Pictures. The former, as horror fans will note, is the studio behind the Saw franchise.
