Sources Say Ariana Grande & Ethan Slater’s Romance Has Only Heated Up Since the 'Wicked' Press Tour

Ever since Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater‘s relationship went public, it’s been riddled with scandal. And while the pair have powered through the affair rumors and public backlash, we were all still keeping an eye on them during the long-awaited Wicked press tour.

But now that Wicked: Part One has been released, and the press tour dust has settled, how are they doing? Well, according to new sources for Us Weekly, they’re “inseparable” and closer than ever.

“Ariana and Ethan have written a whole new book together,” the source said. “[They are] still in the honeymoon phase of pure bliss,” a second insider added.

“The Wicked press tour made their relationship ever stronger, and Ariana is over the moon about Ethan,” the source continued. “They have so much in common, which is something Ari never had with past relationships.”

As a reminder, Grande split from her ex-husband Dalton Gomez in January 2023 after two years together. Slater, on the other hand, split with his ex-wife Lilly Jay on July 26, 2023, shortly after People reported on his relationship with Grande.

Prior to the news of Grande and Slater’s blossoming relationship, Slater’s ex-wife Jay gave an honest take on what happened between them in a revealing essay in The Cut on Dec. 19. In the essay, she talked about moving to London with Slater and their newborn baby while the Broadway star filmed Wicked.

Per Jay, she was “consumed by the magic and mundanity of new motherhood” while there was a “growing distance” between her and Slater while he was filming Wicked.

Soon enough, she had a moment of clarity and realized that things between Slater and Grande had gone beyond friendship. “One day in London, I looked up and found that they had both arrived,” she wrote. While she doesn’t mention the affair or call out Grande by name, the hints are there in the essay. “I really never thought I would get divorced,” she admitted. “Especially not just after giving birth to my first child and especially not in the shadow of my husband’s new relationship with a celebrity.”

Regardless of how candid Jay is about her experience, it seems Grande and Slater are powering through no matter what.
