Steps legend in huge row with major retailer after £350 gift for her daughter ‘goes missing’

STEPS singer Claire Richards has found herself embroiled in a huge row with luxury retailer Harvey Nichols over 'missing' items for her daughter.

The popstar, 47, has claimed she is up to £350 out of pocket from the retail store after they allegedly hit back at her suggestion that not all the items in her order had been delivered.

Claire's row with the store spilled out onto X - formerly Twitter - as she took to the social media platform to rant about the shop and seek advice from her followers.

The star began by saying: "Any retail experts on here that can tell me if it’s lawful for @HarveyNichols to accept my order, take my payment, send order in multiple packages with half the items missing, totalling over £350, but when I asked them to send the missing items as they were Xmas gifts........

"I was told they have proof of delivery and they have checked the cctv of my exact package being assembled and boxed and that the items were put in the box.

"I asked to see the cctv proof but apparently I’m not allowed as it breaches data protection @HarveyNichols ………?"

Clearly furious, Claire continued: "It seems when it’s your word against mine there is no consideration for the customer.

"I’m shocked at the lack of customer service and outright disregard for the consumer."

Claire then went on to detail how she had been left "out of pocket" by the purported mishap as she begged for answers to what had gone on.

The singer wrote: "As it stands I’m out of pocket my husband and my daughter didn’t receive their gifts and you refuse to communicate with me to try and resolve this any further.

"Surely if you have definitive proof it was packed I should be able to view that proof for myself."

In further scathing messages, she went onto suggest that the major retailer were branding her a "liar" and had made her feel like "a thief".

The Sun has reached out to Harvey Nichols for comment.

Claire first found fame in pop group Steps before going on to enjoy a solo career.

Since then, she has appeared in TV shows such as Celebrity Big Brother and The Masked Singer.

Claire is married to husband Reece Hill in 2008 - three years after splitting from first husband Mark Webb.

With Mark she shares son Charlie whilst she and Reece have daughter, Daisy, who was born in 2009.
