Strictly: Chris reveals his daughter's thoughts on Craig

Comedian Chris McCausland has teased that his daughter cannot "forgive" one of his colleagues from Strictly Come Dancing "even" in the wake of him winning the BBC show.

Chris, 47, and his dance partner Dianne Buswell, 35, were named the winners of the latest series in Saturday night's final. He had been supported by his family, including his daughter Sophie, eleven, throughout his Strictly experience.

He spoke about Sophie whilst on ITV's Lorraine on Monday. Chris was interviewed by former Strictly contestant Ranvir Singh, 47, on the show and teased that his daughter is not particularly keen on judge Craig Revel Horwood, 59.

Chris shared that when he first took part in the show she "fed off" his own nerves. He said in the interview this week: "She fed off my anxiety because I was terrified and I couldn't really hide it that well and so she was nervous for me."

He continued: "[At] the first show, when we did the Cha Cha Cha, she was so nervous and as soon as we started dancing down the dancefloor she burst out crying. She got better throughout the series and was able to enjoy it."

Chris added: "She threw things at the telly when Craig was on." Ranvir then asked what his daughter calls the judge, prompting Chris to explain on the show: "She calls him a bum. Even after the final. Even after he gave us a ten and said something nice, she couldn't forgive the two eights."

It had been Craig's scores that had prevented Chris from receiving perfect scores in all of his routines in the final - having been the only judge to not award a score of 10 in all three of them. Unlike Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke, he gave Chris and Dianne an 8 for two dances. Craig awarded a 10 for their third routine though.

Reflecting on his comments about Sophie's feelings towards the judge, Ranvir said: "I love her! that's the kind of loyalty you want from your family." Elsewhere in the interview, she asked how Chris was feeling after winning this year's Strictly.

Chris said that the final had been an "emotional" night and suggested that he felt "quite worn down" by having competed on Strictly for more than ten weeks. He said: "It's been a really emotional Saturday night and I'm still kind of feeling quite worn down by it." He went on to comment: "Three and half months - it is, as you know, it's relentless. It's consuming. Physically [and] mentally it takes its toll."
