What can we expect from the film's story?
Although the plot is under tight wraps, Gunn has clarified a few details. This is not an origin story, so viewers won't see an extended prologue featuring Superman's father, Jor-El, warning of Krypton's impending destruction or much of Clark Kent's childhood in Smallville, Kansas. Instead, the film focuses on Superman's early days in Metropolis as he learns how best to use his powers for Earth's benefit while establishing himself as a top reporter at The Daily Planet.
The story will also explore his struggle to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his life on Earth. If the first promotional image is any clue, Superman will also face a significant extraterrestrial threat.
Who is playing Superman?
The role of Superman was given to David Corenswet.. He notably starred in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series The Politician, which premiered in 2019. The actor went on to work with Murphy again in the Netflix limited series Hollywood and starred alongside Mia Goth in the A24 hit Pearl.
Who else is involved in the project?
In addition to the main cast, the film features Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Mar?a Gabriela de Far?a as The Engineer, and Wendell Pierce as Daily Planet editor Perry White.
