British actress and Nanny McPhee star Eliza Bennett has announced the birth of her first child.
The 32-year-old star shared the joyous news of her new arrival on Instagram with fans, penning a lengthy post explaining why she kept her pregnancy under wraps until now.
The footage features clips from throughout her pregnancy up until the birth, explaining: "I didn't feel the pull to share my pregnancy or birth on social media".

"I was a little quieter on here this year and this was for a few reasons but mainly because I had a little smoosh. Surprise!" she wrote.
"It's a perfect lil (sic) snippet of some treasured moments from 2024."
Bennett went on to praise mothers after giving birth via C-section, which she said left her "in shock for a while".

In some ways pregnancy and birth can seem almost mundane, so many women have babies, so many women I love have had babies. And then I did it myself.
And boy, I will never look at these women the same way," she wrote.

"I couldn't believe how hard it was, how hard it is. My birth was not my ideal situation, 40 hours long and ending in an emergency C section left me in shock for a while. It was hard. The hardest thing I've ever done."
She added: "And now I'm not sure I'll ever get over the fact women do this, this primal physical sacrifice of their body all the time."
