Survivor’s Teeny Reveals Why She Voted for Her Ally Sol During His Tribal Council Blindside

1 week ago 2

Solomon “Sol” Yi was unanimously voted out at tribal council on Survivor, which meant that even his closest ally, Christine “Teeny” Chirichillo, cast a vote for him. After the Wednesday, November 13, episode aired, she explained why she went along with the blindside.

“If I hadn’t voted for SOL I would’ve been the singular person on the outside of the vote,” Teeny, 24, wrote on X. “I learned the situation. There was no difference to make. Read a textbook listen to a podcast get off me d***.”

Sol, 43, and Teeny’s fellow former Lavo member Genevieve Mushaluk was the one who came up with the plan to blindside Sol as revenge for him orchestrating Jerome “Rome” Cooney’s elimination earlier in the game. Genevieve, 33, initially didn’t want to bring Teeny into the vote, even though she was upset that she would have to betray her.

However, with all the chatter around camp and tribal council, Teeny was able to catch wind of what was happening. Although she tried to push the votes toward Sue Smey or Kyle Ostwald like some of the tribe members had discussed, the writing was clearly on the wall for Sol to go home.

Sol went out with his head held high and respected the blindside. “I love you, Sol,” Teeny told him before he left. Even though the two didn’t work together on every vote, they had been playing the game together from the beginning, so it was a hard loss for her.

Luckily, there are no hard feelings. “She came over yesterday to watch the show with me, her and her mom did,” Sol told Parade. “And the comment was made, ‘We’re like ‘Ying and Yang,’’ instead of yin and yang. We just connect so well. And she voted for number one [Aysha]. She didn’t tell me about the amulet idol. But for me, because I loved Teeny so much, I was just like, ‘OK, no problem. I’m still going to work with you.’ But yeah, Teeny is just an amazing person.”

Sol also admitted that he was “never completely confident” heading into tribal council. “Sam [Phelan] told me that the vote was on me very, very, very late in the day, and we start scrambling like crazy,” he said, adding that he almost even played his shot in the dark for a chance at safety. “I knew that if I did [play it] and they are with me, then I’m going home,” he added. “So it was a crazy, crazy night. And we didn’t have much time at camp because tribal council was coming right up.”

At the end of the day, Sol doesn’t have “many regrets” about his game. “There’s one thing I wish I would’ve done that’s been irking at me, especially right now,” he shared. “Sam had a fake idol. Sam told me it was fake. So when Sam tells me the vote is me, we just take off and start trying to get the numbers. Normally, in my everyday life, if something happens, I pause, I think. I’m like, ‘What can I do here?’ as opposed to just taking off. And one of the things I could’ve done is taken that fake immunity idol from Sam, who I thought would’ve given it to me because we’re kind of working together at this time. And at the very end, I could have said,’ Guys, I’m voting for so and so. You can vote for me because I know you’re all going to.’ Maybe they believe me, I don’t know. But that’s one thing I wish I would have done.”
