T-Pain Analyzes 'SpongeBob' Theme Song, Says It Makes His 'Ears Bleed'

T-Pain isn't a fan of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song and explained why in a new TikTok.

On Friday (Jan. 10), the two-time Grammy winner posted a TikTok titled "I do not care of the SpongeBob theme song," where he stressed that the ditty (sung by Patrick Pinney as Painty the Pirate and a group of children) was "trash." Despite the song being nearly 26 years old, the "Buy U a Drank" artist has held on to his opinion for years and finally voiced it during a livestream.

"Now let's go back and listen to these fuckin' kids," T-Pain began in the clip below. "Bro, no, don't even worry about the beginning of it."

After attempting to sing the song's melody, T-Pain twice asked what "key" the children were in, before determining that the Nickelodeon classic makes his "ears bleed."

"Fuck these kids, my n***a" he joked. "Like, straight up and down–What are y'all doing, bro? You're ruining the song. You're just scream–they're screaming!"

Maybe T-Pain was mentally drawing comparisons to the SpongeBob theme song and his 2010 Adult Swim cartoon special Freaknik: The Musical, which starred seasoned artists like himself, CeeLo Green, Kelis, Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg as voice actors.

In 2022, during a Dreamville Fest appearance on Posted on the Corner, T-Pain revealed that a Freaknik sequel was in the works.
