Taylor Swift does not support the 47th president of the United States Donald Trump as she publicly endorsed former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris last September.
Following the election results that saw Trump secure a huge victory, Swift has yet to publicly address the outcome. The famous singer has remained quiet, leaving fans wondering about her thoughts.
That's why it was so surprising to see an AI-generated video that went viral recently because Trump and Swift sing along to a parody of the singer's massive hit "Love Story". The song is called "Trump Story." and it was so big that even the owner of X (formerly known as Twitter) repost it with a laughing emoji.
The AI video that was posted originally by the X user JonC Memes, has 17,6 million views. In the images we see Trump singing with a guitar and Swift is listening to the politician. The two personalities even meet at the White House and then we see AI-generated Taylor Swift at a Trump rally wearing the famous red had from the Make America Great Again movement.
Taylor Swift's participation in politics
Swift's past political stances and endorsements have been well-documented, with the star actively encouraging her followers to engage in civic participation.
Swift's September Instagram post endorsing Harris gained considerable attention, yet it didn't make the impact she hoped for. The global superstar also addressed another AI-generated video that showed her endorsing Trump, which was not true.
"Recently I was made aware that AI of 'me' falsely endorsing Donald Trump's presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.
"I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's right to her own body for decades." wrote Swift before the election.
