The Best Duel Characters in Marvel Rivals

2 weeks ago 4

The Duel class in Marvel Rivals is the one everybody wants to play. It's full of fast, hard-hitting characters whose sole job it is to get in and shred the enemies. As the primary damage dealers in Marvel Rivals, Duel characters need to be maximizing their damage outputs at all times — but not every Duel character is made equal, and some are definitely better than others.

That's why we've put together this list of the best Duel characters in Marvel Rivals, so you know who to charge into battle with, what their drawbacks are, and how to use them effectively.

Make sure you also check out our guides for the best Strategist characters and the best Vanguard characters in Marvel Rivals.

Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl is a killer combo of both being very powerful and being very beginner-friendly, making it easy for any new player to jump in and start dealing damage. Squirrel Girl's acorns can dish out absurd amounts of damage, and are great for taking down tanky Vanguard characters, plus she can reload her ammo instantly. Add in the ability to use her tail to make a quick getaway, and stun acorns that, while difficult to aim, stop enemies in their tracks, and you've got a fantastic character.

Iron Fist

It's a little bit difficult to get used to Iron Fist's gameplay loop, but once you get there you can start dealing some of the biggest damage in the game. His primary attack is already pretty powerful, but Iron Fist's strength comes from his counter stance, which blocks incoming damage, generates overhealth in the process, and massively powers up his primary attack. He's got the ability to restore his own health – helpful for a character that can be a bit fragile at times – but his cooldowns are pretty short and he's a very capable Duelist. Don't sleep on Iron Fist.

Iron Man

Iron Man is another S-Tier character that is great for beginners, because his kit is so simple to wrap your head around. He does exactly what you'd expect: he flies, he fires laser beams and missiles, and he can power himself up to deal even more damage. That's all you really need to know — he's a great character that's easy to use and offers a lot of mobility and long-range damage.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man is one of the more difficult characters to play in Marvel Rivals, with fast, powerful attacks, lots of mobility, and some very useful crowd control. His webs can drag an enemy within punching distance, and his Web Tracer secondary attack lets him teleport to a marked enemy. Web-slinging around the map is great fun, if tricky to master, and offers plenty of mobility to get off all of his kit. You'll need a lot of practice to get everything right, but once you do you'll become a force to be reckoned with.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight is a lot of fun to play, but he's a great character with plenty of utility, too. He has a strong primary attack – with the ability to amplify its damage by laying ankhs on the battlefield – ricocheting projectiles, and the ability to quickly whittle down the health of enemies. On top of his key skills, he also has a very strong three-hit melee attack and a grappling hook to zip around the map, making him a strong contender in any match.

Psylocke

Psylocke isn't the most powerful character in Marvel Rivals in terms of pure damage output, but that doesn't mean she can't hold her own. Psylocke can shorten her cooldowns by landing hits with her primary attack, and keep herself safe while still putting out a steady stream of decent damage. She's also capable of turning invisible to sneak into the perfect spot for getting the jump on the enemy, and deal damage twice while earning bonus health with her shuriken attack.

Wolverine

Wolverine needs a bit of support to really get going, but he's a powerful Duel character nonetheless. Wolverine exclusively fights up close and personal, but he'll need a Strategist to keep him healthy and happy because he only has one self-sustain ability — and unfortunately it comes with a long cooldown timer. Wolverine's kit has you maintaining the rage state by constantly barraging enemies with attacks, and he does it very well, capable of taking down even the tankiest Vanguards. His mid-range lunge skill is handy, too, capable of removing an annoying enemy from the field if it makes contact.
