The Devil Wears Prada star, 61, reveals ageless beauty at musical’s West End launch

The West End’s newest show The Devil Wears Prada has brought the stars out in force, with the iconic Vanessa Williams stunning on opening night.

The show, which is on at London’s Dominion Theatre, saw a lavish opening with famous faces like Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace, and Luke Evans making an appearance.

Vanessa, 61, looked sensational in a black floor-length one-shoulder gown with dramatic thigh slit and mesh stomach detail.

She swept her hair up into a bun, opting for minimal makeup other than a smokey eye – letting her flawless skin shine.

For the second half of the evening, the Ugly Betty icon swapped into a silky red top and black leather skirt.

In the stage show, which features music by Sir Elton John, Vanessa takes on the iconic role of Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine.

Originally, in the 2006 film, Meryl Streep played the cutthroat fashion editor alongside Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt.

Currently in the West End version, Olivier winner Matt Henry is starring as Nigel and Amy Di Bartolomeo takes on first assistant Emily.

Stepping into Andy’s Chanel boots is Georgie Buckland, making her West End debut in the central role.

All the cast, including Rhys Whitfield (Nate) and James Darch (Christian), attended the World Premiere at the British Museum before heading to a charity night on Sunday, December 1.

Keeping the fashion stakes high, Vogue legend Anna Wintour – rumoured to be the inspiration for Miranda – took to the red carpet in an emerald green coat and blue dress.

Composer Elton did not attend the premiere after suffering a series of health issues but joined his husband and the show’s producer David Furnish for the charity event.

This was thrown to raise money for the Elton John Aids Foundation, with plenty of stars walking the red carpet.

Donatella rocked a gold glittering see-through dress with knee-high brown platform boots.

Lily Collins also went for gold with her floor-length, shimmering, off-the-shoulder gown with thigh-high slit, walking hand-in-hand with husband Charlie McDowell.

National treasure Graham Norton arrived in a silver suit meanwhile Elizabeth Hurley wore a floating butterfly print gown as she walked the red carpet with her son Damian.

Luke Evans and his boyfriend Fran Thomas kept the monochromatic theme going in matching black tops, black coats and shoes – although Fran opted for grey trousers.

Drag Race star Michelle Visage added a splash of colour in a bright red and black plaid suit, wearing her hair slicked back away from her face.

She was joined by UK contestant La Voix, who paired their bright red hair with a black-and-white look.

Internet stars Amelia Dimoldenberg and Dylan Mulvaney opted for chic monochromatic looks.

The Devil Wears Prada, The Musical, is on in London’s Dominion Theatre and tickets are available until October 2025.
