‘The Future of Film Is Interactive’ Panel Will Showcase KINO’s Bold New Way of Connecting Filmmakers to Audiences

1 month ago 3

Who’s my audience? That’s one of the biggest questions any filmmaker can ask themselves, especially at this moment when it’s never been harder simply to reach an audience. Luckily, the heads of KINO, a bold startup interactive cinema, are set to join IndieWire at the Future of Filmmaking Summit in Los Angeles on November 2.

KINO’s Austin Worrell, Brit MacRae, and Daril Fannin will discuss with an IndieWire editor how their platform enables unique interactivity: Audiences can interact directly with filmmakers making their streaming premieres on KINO, to get a glimpse behind the scenes of the filmmaking process, the director’s creative inspirations, and more. Think of this as a “TikTok for film” experience.

A recent example of one of KINO’s digital premieres is for “The Secret Art of Human Flight,” H.P. Mendoza’s film starring Grant Rosenmeyer, Maggie Grace, and Academy Award nominee Paul Raci, where online viewers could ask questions of the cast and filmmakers. Considering the mystical nature of that film, an astrologist then did live birth-chart readings for the audience, followed by a conversation about Hollywood cults.

Other recent examples of digital premieres’ KINO’s hosted are queer horror film “Ganymede,” and documentaries “God Bless Bitcoin” and “Courage Rising.”

All three of our panelists are co-founders of KINO. COO Austin Worrell is a tech entrepreneur who’s founded multiple companies, MacRae is the Chief Marketing Officer, leveraging deep industry connections from her career as both a marketing executive, and CEO Daril Fannin has created and produced multi-million dollar film & TV projects with Jimmy Kimmel, Sylvester Stallone, and Peter Berg.

Network with industry peers, exchange ideas, and spark inspiration throughout the summit. With a premium breakfast, lunch, and cocktail reception included, this is more than just a day of learning — it’s a chance to form meaningful connections that could shape the future of your next project.

Don’t miss your chance to join this forward-looking conversation and position yourself for success in the ever-changing world of entertainment.
