The reason A Place in The Sun star Jasmine Harman goes months without seeing husband

Jasmine Harman has once opened up about the difficult time she went months without seeing her husband.

The A Place in the Sun presenter, 49, has been happily married to Jon Boast, 44, a director of photography, since 2009. The couple met back in 2004 on the set of the popular Channel 4 show, during Jasmine’s first episode. Together, they share two children, Joy, nine, and Albion, seven.

Jasmine has previously shared how her hectic schedule affects her home life, saying: "Sometimes Jon and I don't see each other for a month at a time because I'll be away for a week and then I get back and he's gone.

During the lockdown, Jon was away from home for two weeks, and Jasmine admitted it was a particularly difficult time for her and their children. She reflected on the experience, sharing how the separation took an emotional toll.

Speaking to The Express, the TV star confessed: "It was really hard actually. Partly because I missed him, but largely because I had children who were four and six, and a seven-month-old puppy to look after 24/7 without any help at all."

She went on to describe how challenging it was to manage everything on her own. "I found it very hard. And to be honest, I wouldn't want to do it permanently. 24/7," Jasmine said.

Reflecting on that time, she added: "In fact, I think he was away for about two weeks. And I think for about a week at that time, I had both the children sleeping in my room, so we sort of were camping if you like or having a sleepover. They had their mattresses on the floor by the side of my bed."

Adding to the strain, Jasmine shared: "Emotionally it was quite tough because none of us really knew what was going on and all these people dying, and my mum wasn't feeling well, so it was a bit much."

Despite the occasional challenges, Jasmine and Jon’s relationship remains strong. She recalled one rare disagreement the pair had on set during a shoot when the Jon fell ill, leaving them to decide who would take charge.

"The only time I think we fell out on set was when the director was taken ill during a shoot, and so with the director gone, Jon and I had to decide whether he should be in charge or whether I should be in charge," she explained. "The shoot had to go on, that's the only time we sort of disagreed or fell out on set."
