Fans have long questioned Caitlyn Jenner’s absence on The Kardashians but it could be down to previous comments she made about matriarch and ex-wife Kris.
Though Caitlyn Jenner did feature prominently in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the same could not be said for Hulu’s The Kardashians. It’s basically the same show, following the lives of Kris Jenner and her famous daughters.
Caitlyn Jenner has never appeared on The Kardashians
The Kardashians has been a favorite among fans since its inception in 2022, largely because Kris has zero boundaries when it comes to filming. Fans are yet to see an updated look at Caitlyn’s relationship with the family, though sadly, that might be because there isn’t one.
While some fans have questioned whether Caitlyn was axed from the show because of her transition, Caitlyn herself dished on the drama in an interview with RadioTimes in 2023.

“I’ve never been asked to be on the show and I certainly don’t expect to be asked to be on the show. So yeah, I’ve kind of moved on in my life from that perspective,” she said.
While it’s unclear why she was never invited, the relationship with her family took a dip after she made comments about Kris in her 2015 Vanity Fair interview.
Despite her insistence that she had moved on, in the same year, Caitlyn signed onto Sky’s docuseries about her family.
“I think there’s always a lot to know. Although I’ve only really seen the first episode, which is kind of the building of where we started and how we became involved in the show, I’m kind of dying to see the rest of it,” Caitlyn said in the same interview. “Television sometimes can be like ‘you’ve got to be spectacular, you’ve got to have controversy’. I think that this company will represent all the kids properly.”
She seemingly threw some shade at her ex’s reality TV shows, adding: “I wanted to make sure that they did it right. Every one of them – not only just the ones that you see on TV or this show but all my children. And everyone is so successful.”
The women did not receive the documentary particularly well
During the fifth season of The Kardashians, the women (and Scott Disick) sat down to discuss Caitlyn’s involvement in the documentary that Khloe Kardashian said intended to not “paint us in the most beautiful light.”
“Apparently, whoever has been calling people that have either once been in our lives or are in our lives to do the documentary and no one really has agreed to do it — except for Caitlyn,” she said.
When the trailer said that Kris wanted to be more than a housewife, she responded: “Well, shoot me. I wanted to be more than just a housewife. OK, so … kill me.”

The only family member who was somewhat untouched by the docuseries was Kim Kardashian, who pointed out that recent comments don’t detract from the “great stepdad who raised me.”
Taking to Twitter (now X) to address the pushback, Caitlyn explained her motivations: “I hate to see the press lying about my role in the new documentary on Sky, saying I spilled all the family tea. It’s such BS. I spoke so highly of all of my family — and yes, that includes Kris. The media is so cruel and cares only about clicks. I went on fighting for my family!”
