As if the drama involving Whitney Leavitt and the other women of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives wasn’t enough, it looks as though there might be issues between some of the cast and Jen Affleck.
Layla Taylor, one of the season 1 stars, posted a TikTok video with costars Demi Engemann, Jessi Ngatikaura and Mikayla Matthews on Tuesday, November 12. In the clip, Layla, 23, wrote, “Let’s hear out what she has to say!” at the top of the video. The words are then followed by “*plays victim.”
While some fans automatically assumed that the shade was aimed at Whitney, 31, several other people in the comments section speculated that it might be about Jen, 25.
“I’ve seen rumors that it’s actually about Jen and she’s the new villain of momtok but either way if you are a bad person people are going to talk about you regardless of what your current situation might be,” wrote one commenter.
Another content creator speculated that the drama revolved around Jen leaving Jessi’s salon, JZ Styles, to have her hair done by someone else.
“We know there’s MomTok drama when one of the girls starts going to a different salon for their hair extensions,” TikTok creator StephWithDaDeets said in her video posted on Thursday, November 14. “The other day when Layla had posted this video, I had said that I’m pretty sure it’s about Jen Affleck because some of the women stopped following Jen. Layla, Demi and Jessi all unfollowed her and we all know Jen was going to JZ Styles for her hair extensions, but it seems like recently she’s switched it up.”
Steph added that another user known as HairArtistAbbie posted a video featuring Jen in the salon chair and explained what she did to the mom of two’s hair.
“[Abbie] said, ‘I have been friends with Jen for the past six years and I’ve done her hair for several of those years.’ I think it’s interesting that she put that little tidbit in there,” Steph continued. “I’m guessing this was Jen’s hair stylist before she went on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and then she started going to JZ Styles.”
Layla, Jen and Mikayla have their following lists on TikTok set to private while Jessi, 32, and Demi, 30, still have their following lists public. While it appeared as though Jessi and Demi had unfollowed Jen, it could be because Jen has her info hidden. Plus, Demi still notably followed Jen’s husband, Zac Affleck.
None of the women have specifically addressed any issues they might have with Jen.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives finale ended with Whitney cutting ties with almost everyone else in the cast. Whitney declared she was quitting MomTok but has since seemingly confirmed that she would be returning for season 2.
“During that time, I was going through so much that when I watch it, I’m like, ‘Well, yeah, I was reacting that way because of [X, Y and Z],’” Whitney told Kaitlyn Bristowe during an appearance on the “Off the Vine” podcast. “What I really learned from this last season is I just wanna let go of what I can’t control. I can’t control what other women are gonna say or do or whatever, but, like, I control what I can control and I also don’t wanna take things as personally as I did in the first season.”
