EXCLUSIVE: The Traitors has had viewers gripped to their seats already and is hosted by Claudia Winkelman who has a track record for getting sucked into the theatrics of the show
The Traitors: Harry Clark shocks Mollie as he wins the finalIt's no secret The Traitors host Claudia Winkelman gets well and truly sucked into the drama of the BBC murder mystery show - but once she let it all out in front of contestants.
The hilarious host, 52, has been at the forefront of the show since it kicked off in 2023 and is a huge hit with viewers and contestants alike. Fans are so engrossed in it, that this year they've been theorising about potential secret links between the cast after sisters Armani and Maia were eliminated.
OG traitor Wilfred Webster, who has teamed up with Mecca Bingo, spoke to us about the latest series of the show. Speaking of what Claudia was like to work with, Wilf said: "It’s so weird because, with Claudia, she's obviously with the traitors more than she's with the faithful because she will come and speak to us in the turret and say we've got to do this and that.
"But she doesn't care who wins, it's a really weird thing. She's like 'I just want somebody to win'. She doesn't care if you're faithful or a traitor."
Wilf also claimed Claudia couldn't contain her emotions during tasks and would have "mad" outbursts. He added: "When we were doing the missions, she was actually really supportive, shouting, going mad, and screaming for us. It was really funny, but then all of a sudden, she's really serious.
"Claudia was amazing, she was so supportive. I struggled a lot. There were times when I cried.
"I had a breakdown when I got rid of Amanda. Claudia came into the turret just after I got rid of Amanda, and Claudia said something like ‘Why did you do that?’ and I just burst out crying. You see me hug Claudia and I felt like such a vulnerable person.
"It was longer than what you see on the TV, I think on TV you only see 30 seconds, but it was probably about five to ten minutes and she was saying ‘Come on like it's fine’. She was really supportive and really helpful. I think she knew that I was really struggling at that point, but she was so nice and supportive and sort of got us through it."
He is still in touch with the presenter now and revealed she paid a kind gesture towards him recently. He shared: "I chat to her on and off, we'll have a couple of messages here and there.
"When I walked from London to Liverpool for a charity called CALM with Ivan, she messaged me a really long message and donated. She messaged me the other day asking me about this season three and we've just chatted about it. Even after the show, she's really supportive."
