Love Island's Ronnie Vint's hair has captured the attention of fans, shifting the usual hair-styling spotlight from the female contestants to one of the dashing male hopefuls this year. Social media has been abuzz, with speculation on whether Ronnie is donning a wig or if he's benefitted from some crafty aesthetic aid.
The answer was actually revealed last year when an evicted contestant from season opened up during a podcast interview. When asked on the Not My Bagg podcast with host Joe Baggs, ex-Islander Munveer Jabbal eventually spilt the beans after initial reluctance, confessing: "He was very open about it. He spoke to the boys, and it's basically hair fibres. The full back's are gone. But he's using hair fibre."
According to NHS statistics, 6.5 million men in the UK experience hair loss, so there's absolutely no stigma in seeking assistance from grooming products to conceal less thick spots. Thankfully, for all men reading this who want to give hair fibres a go, Ronnie himself opened up about his use of the clever product.
In a TikTok video posted just a couple of months ago, the footballer says: "Since coming out of the villa everyone has been asking me what I use on my hair.. I use Toppik, the best hair fibres there. I'm going to show you what I use, how I use it and how I get a proper hairline again," he says.

"Because they're made of keratin, they attach to your hair for a much fuller, thicker look. It's really easy to use. I literally just take off the top, and I'll just screw on the applicator, and you just give it a little shake. I add Toppik to the front of my hairline."

ITV / Toppik)So, what exactly are hair fibres?
Here's the low-down. "They work by using the strong natural static charge found in keratin protein to bind to existing hair," explain the experts at Toppik. "This electrostatic charge is powerful enough to securely attach to the hair, meaning that the fibres are fastened in place until the charge is removed, which is usually when they are washed during shampooing."
"When applied in the desired areas, these fibres can successfully disguise hair loss and leave you with thicker-looking, fuller hair. To use them, simply sprinkle your chosen shade – they come in all hair colours – onto the area/s that requires a thickening boost."
Some products have spray nozzle applicators for more targeted filling, while others come with cushioned applicators to dab on fibres. The amount you'll need to use varies between products and the severity of hair loss, so read the package for a more detailed how-to.
