Ryan Seacrest is now the big cheese on the Wheel of Fortune set, so it's no surprise he celebrated his milestone 50th birthday with a very unique cake.
Maggie Sajak, former host Pat Sajak's daughter and the show's social correspondent, posted a video to Instagram of Seacrest's savory treat.
"You're a healthy guy, so I'm not entirely surprised that we don't have a traditional birthday cake," she told Seacrest, who gathered with her and Vanna White in front of a four-tier "dessert" adorned with oranges, grapes and flowers.
"On the important days, you can go off the plan a little bit," Seacrest explained.
While at first it seemed like he was talking about cheating on his diet, he gave a hint that not everything was as it appeared when he told Sajak to smell the cake and asked for her first impression.
"Strong!" she replied, and Seacrest then questioned if the cake had the not-so-sweet scent of "socks."
White's cringe confirmed Seacrest was right.
Sajak shared she had looked forward to tasting the cheesecake she'd heard was planned for Seacrest's on-set birthday festivities, but admitted she became "slightly less excited" upon discovering it was made from slabs of Swiss, Gruyère, and other types of cheeses.
While Seacrest admitted feasting on a birthday cake made of fine cheeses was "a first" for him, he showed he was adaptable and could make use of the cake as a true fondue aficionado if nobody else was into eating it.
It's no surprise since Seacrest, who celebrated turning 50 on Tuesday, December 24, has said his birthdays are usually "all about fun" as well as "food."
The next big shindig on Seacrest's agenda? He's set to reprise his annual gig as host of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in New York City, where he'll welcome stars from Carrie Underwood and Rita Ora to Cody Johnson and the Jonas Brothers on Tuesday, December 31.
