Threads is testing a new feature that lets users set their default feed. Users may create and personalise particular feeds by searching for topics of interest. The functionality is presently being tested, and once released, users may be able to specify a custom feed as the default.
Threads, the microblogging network owned by Meta, will soon allow users to pick a custom feed as their default. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, announced the launch of a Threads feature that allows users to pick between For You, Following, and custom feeds based on interests or criteria.
As of now users can choose from For you, Following, and custom feeds on the home screen, but the platform’s under-testing feature may soon enable default selection.

The new functionality enables users to build custom feeds by searching for a certain topic and selecting build new feed. Users may also add fresh topics or profiles by going to the appropriate page and clicking Add to feed from the three-dot menu.
The new feature expands upon a recent algorithm modification that increases the quantity of postings from individuals they follow. Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, recently revealed an upgrade to the algorithm that chooses user posts. The algorithm will now prioritise content from users’ accounts, lowering recommended content from non-following accounts and increasing posts from users’ accounts.

The most recent change to the Threads algorithm will have a big effect on content creators since they depend on it to display their posts to those who aren’t followers, which will increase the number of posts that are seen by their current followers.
