Tiger Woods Pulls Out Of Crucial TGL Match; When Will He Make PGA Tour Debut?

9 hours ago 2

It looks like the golf world will have to wait a little longer for Tiger Woods to return to the PGA Tour. Not only has the 15-time major champion not confirmed his participation in any of the upcoming tournaments, but he has also pulled out of the next TGL event.

The Jupiter Links Golf Club, the team led by Woods, will play a crucial match against The Bay Golf Club on Tuesday, February 25. The Florida team has only one win in three matches and is on the verge of being eliminated from the semifinals, while the San Francisco team tops the season's standings with three wins in as many matches.

Despite the relevance of the match, Jupiter Links will have to play without Woods. The team will field Tom Kim, Kevin KIsner and Max Homa against Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry and Min Woo Lee.

Those hoping to see the Big Cat on the PGA Tour in the next few weeks may want to reconsider. Woods showed signs of not being ready during his last TGL appearance.

"I really haven't thought about golf," Woods said from the SoFi Center, home of the simulator league, "so I don't think I'm going to be thinking about it for just a little bit here."

Tiger Woods was confirmed to play in the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, but his mother's passing away days before led Woods to withdraw from the event. At the time, he also stated that he needed to get back in shape to compete.

"I planned to tee it up this week, but I'm just not ready," Woods posted on his social media accounts. "I did my best to prepare, knowing it's what my Mom would have wanted, but I'm still processing her loss."

However, during the final round of the Genesis Invitational, Woods spoke again about his plans for the 2025 season, stating that he plans to play more and participate in the "bigger events". This opens the door for him to tee it up before the Masters Tournament.

The next big event on the PGA Tour schedule is the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the fourth Signature Event of the season, which will be played March 6-9 at its usual venue at Bay Hill. One week later, the tour's flagship event, The PLAYERS Championship, will be played at the historic TPC Sawgrass.

Many fans have speculated about the possibility of Woods playing the Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach next week. However, registration for that event is about to close without the 15-time major champion's name on the list.
