Tika Sumpter Talks Role In Hedgehog 3, Kids Book And How She Met Her Husband On Set

Tika Sumpter, star of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, sat down with Sherri the other day. She shared that she met her husband on set and initially tried to keep their relationship under wraps—though that didn’t quite work out! She also discussed her upcoming children’s book, I Got It from My Mama, set for release on April 8th of next year. The book offers a peek into the vibrant world of Ella, a curious child discovering her world, all while being guided by a mom who’s refreshingly honest and relatable. It’s a warm exploration of gentle parenting at its most authentic.

Sumpter then promoted her role in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where she plays Maddie Wachowski, a veterinarian in Green Hills, Montana, and the wife of Tom Wachowski. In the film, she assists Sonic in his mission to recover his lost rings in San Francisco, stands by him as he battles Dr. Ivo Robotnik, and warmly welcomes Sonic into her family as an adopted son.
