Timothée Chalamet has all but named his former co-star who refused to shower while he method acted his way through a Western movie.
The actor, 29, is currently promoting A Complete Unknown, and has made headlines as he arrived at the London premiere on a lime bike – which left him with a hefty fine for improperly parking.
While on the press tour in London, the actor appeared on BBC Radio 1 to chat about the movie and was asked who the ‘smelliest’ actor he’s ever worked with.
‘I’m not gonna say any names because that would just be mean,’ the Little Women actor began.
‘But I did work on a Western years ago and somebody was “in character” the whole time and it was quite something on set, that waft coming in every day.’
‘They just weren’t washing. And the nails,’ he said with a grimace.
‘[Casey Affleck] goes there,’ his co-star Edward Norton joked.
‘It wasn’t Casey’ Timothée added quickly.
The interviewer then asked how long the actor didn’t shower for, to which the actor replied: ‘I was there for two months, but they were really committed.
He then dropped another detail as he added: ‘The gentleman’s wife came and they were very in love, and she didn’t care.’
Fans were quick to speculate about who the fragrant actor could be and many worked out that the actor has only starred in one Western movie, a 2017 flick titled Hostiles.
The film stars Christian Bale and Ben Foster, actors who are both known for their commitment to roles and use of method acting.
Many fans pointed the finger at these actors, who also both have wives, adding mounting evidence to the idea that they could have been Timothée’s scented co-star.
Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi also starred in the film and Stephen Lang, Jesse Plemons, Rory Cochrane, Adam Beach, Q’orianka Kilcher, and Jonathan Majors all appeared in supporting roles.
