Tina Knowles and GloRilla are aligned.
Ms. Knowles hopped on Instagram to share her excitement that her daughter, Beyoncé finally won Album of the Year at the Grammys for her latest effort, Cowboy Carter. Tina illustrated her point by sharing a clip of Big Glo yelling and cheering Bey on as she walked to the stage to accept her award.
“This was me last night when they announced @beyonce won for Album Of The Year at home watching by myself,” Ms. Knowles wrote. “Through all those years, she was so gracious when not winning, still remaining humble and being genuinely happy for those who did win.”
“I always told her that I really appreciated and admired her humbleness and classy graciousness. So yes, last night. @glorillapimp was me and I was her!! We were the same person. Thank you for all the prayers and love she received last night.. thank you to the BeyHive and everyone who supported her.”
This is the first time the Queen B has won AOTY at the Grammys. The mother of three is now the most-nominated and most-awarded artist ever in the award show’s history with 99 nominations and 35 wins.
Those accolades aren’t lost on her. When speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Beyoncé called the win “surreal.”
“It’s been 25 years of just working really hard and trying my best to keep growing and keep opening up doors,” she continued. “So I’m just very honored, very honored. I’m happy that my daughter got to see that. … I’m so happy that she was here. And Rumi, who was on the album, my youngest daughter, she was watching. I forgot to thank her so I get to thank her now.”
Cowboy Carter also won Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
