Chef Tom Kerridge has broken his silence regarding the accusations against Gregg Wallace and said he's 'always full of jokes'.
MasterChef star Wallace has been hitting headlines in recent weeks after being accused of making inappropriate sexual remarks and jokes by more than a dozen people over a 17-year period. He strongly denied the allegations in a statement issued via his legal representatives.
The MasterChef judge, who stepped away from his role on the show, said via his lawyers: "It is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature". On Monday, Wallace had expressed regret for his remarks suggesting the complaints about his conduct came from "a handful of middle-class women of a certain age".
On December 3, fellow TV chef Kerridge joined Sky News to discuss Wallace's conduct. He said he didn't know anything about the allegations before saying he always knew the star 'as a high energy person that's always got something to say that is fun and ongoing'.

"I've always known him as a high-energy person who's always got something to say that is fun and ongoing and I've enjoyed spending time when we film together with Gregg. But in terms of the allegations, I've got no real understanding of what's going on so I can't really add comment to it apart from, yes, I know Gregg, and I've always known him to have lots of...
"He's always full of jokes and he's always full of charisma. That front of camera is always something that continues into off screen as well."
Wallace recently said he decided to "take some time out" following the controversy. The MasterChef host, who is battling several allegations including making "inappropriate sexual jokes", posted on Instagram this morning to say sorry. In the video, he said: "I want to apologise for any offence that I caused with my post yesterday and any upset I may have caused to a lot of people.
"I wasn't in a good headspace when I posted it, I've been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion, I felt very alone, under siege yesterday when I posted it. It's obvious to me I need to take some time out, now while this investigation is under way. I hope you understand and I do hope you will accept this apology."
