Tom Sandoval has had a rocky few years, to say the least. He’s lost his girlfriend of almost 10 years, the show he starred on, and has now said goodbye to his lawyers, but has kept one thing constant.

Vanderpump Rules was the make and break of Tom Sandoval. He became famous on the Bravo show but ended up having a seven-month affair with Raquel Leviss, who he’s now embroiled in a lawsuit with.

Tom Sandoval’s girlfriend left him

Tom Sandoval’s now-ex-girlfriend of 10 years, Ariana Madix, left him after he had a seven-month affair with her friend, Rachel Leviss. The scandal was nicknamed Scandoval and blew up all over the media.

In tears, Ariana said she “would have gone anywhere for him” and continued to live in the same house as Tom while legal matters were cleared up. Tom said he “got himself into this mess” as house bills went up.

During the Vanderpump Rules reunion, Ariana revealed Tom slept with her after he’d become intimate with Raquel. Later, he made a public apology to Ariana for being “selfish” and “making reckless decisions.”

Lawyers no longer represent Sandoval

Tom is currently facing a lawsuit against Rachel Leviss, who is trying to sue both him and his ex for revenge porn and emotional distress, after Ariana discovered a graphic video of Rachel on Tom’s phone.

He has now fired his lawyer, Matt Geragos, after he reportedly filed a countersuit against Ariana before fully informing Tom of what this additional lawsuit might do to his ex, and is now representing himself.

Tom then hired Varand Gourjian, who worked on his case for months. But, according to court documents obtained by In Touch, this relationship has also expired. He’s notified Raquel and Ariana’s legal team.

He’s been cut from new Pump Rules

Tom hasn’t been invited back for the new re-casting of Vanderpump Rules. The only people who have been asked to return is bartender Peter Madrigal and long-time cast member James Kennedy.

Despite his TV appearances, such as for the US version of SAS: Who Dares Wins, Bravo were not keen on having him back after the dramatic event that was Scandoval, caused by Tom, and Rachel Leviss.

After hearing of the cast re-vamp, he’s “learned valuable lessons” and reflected on how he is “filled with gratitude” for all of the challenges faced throughout the show, which changed his life.

Schwartz & Sandy’s has officially closed

Sandoval and Tom Schwartz posted about the closure of their bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s, on Instagram, with Sandoval writing, “With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Schwartz & Sandy’s.”

They’re planning to close at the end of December. “This hasn’t been an easy choice for my partners and me, but other priorities and commitments have taken hold,” Sandoval added.

The restaurant closed despite spending months talking about its renovations with Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, but the SUR owner admits it was a “difficult time to open a restaurant.”

The one constant in his life is music

Tom has luckily kept one thing going in his life, and that’s his band. Even during Scandoval, he continued to play as the lead singer in Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, but was often slated by crowds.

The band is 1.4K followers on Spotify and plays lots of top covers. After his affair came out, haters turned up with ‘cheater’ signs, as well as ‘scumbag’ and ‘worm with a moustache’ in May 2024.

They went on the tour during the months of Scandoval’s top headlines, making pit stops along the East and West coasts of the USA. Tom started his cover band back in 2021 and has been performing since.
