TRAITORS star Janne Puhakka has been murdered in a horror shotgun killing that has left the TV finale postponed.

The 29-year-old was found dead at his home in Espoo, Finland by his ex-partner Ralf Nordmo who has allegedly confessed to the murder, say cops.

Police are yet to confirm those involved in the murder but Finnish publication Yle Urheilu say Puhakka's ex-boyfriend Rolf Nordmo, 66, has admitted to being the gunman.

Finish police said "the victim and the suspect had been in a relationship" at the time of the attack on October 13.

A hunting shotgun was used, cops announced.

Puhakka had become a popular celebrity in his home nation as he was appearing on the hit TV show The Traitors in Finland.

The series finale was yet to air despite it being filmed earlier in the year.

The ex-ice hockey ace was still a contestant in the competition at the time and was playing undercover as a traitor.

The Traitors announced that due to Puhakka's death the airdate of the show has been postponed until further notice.

A statement from the show's broadcaster Nelonen said: "We have come to the conclusion that now is not the right time to air an episode.

"We will return to the question of the possible presentation of the episode later. We share in the grief of Janne's loved ones."

Puhakka first shot to fame as an ice hockey star in Finland.

He played for Espoo Blues and Espoo United before ending his career in 2018.

He met Nordmo back in 2014 after the pair started speaking online.

Former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin led the tributes to Puhakka.

She posted an image of him on Instagram with a broken love heart emoji.
