Travis Kelce’s most recent Instagram post has sparked backlash as he remained quiet about the 2024 presidential elections.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, when the country woke up to the news that Donald Trump had been re-elected as the 47th president, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end reminisced about his most recent football win.

“Arrowhead at night 🏟️🔥🔥,” he captioned several photos from Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where the Chiefs beat them 26-13.

In some of the pics, the “New Heights” podcast co-host could be seen running through the field while clutching a football and standing amongst his Chiefs teammates.

Following the celebratory post, many of his followers slammed him for boasting about his win rather than reacting to the presidential news.

“bb love you but feel like maybe this could have been rescheduled to post any day but today,” one person wrote while another pointed out, “trav i love u but pls read the room.”

A third noted, “Travis pls not right now we’re mourning” as another one commented, “Not today Travis.”

A fifth even quoted Kourtney Kardashian when her sister Kim Kardashian lost her diamond earring in the ocean, saying, “Kim, there’s people that are dying.”

Despite the backlash, many defended the “Grotesquerie” actor.

“Is it possible to not make everything about politics and just let him celebrate the win?” one person commented.

“It blows my mind that some of you think he shouldn’t be posting about his football game today because the election didn’t go how you wanted,” another noted.

“This is a football players page, not a political page. No one can post anything other than how upset they are about the election? Get out of here with that. There is enough places on social media to talk about politics.”

Meanwhile, a third wrote, “There is an awful lot of people asking Travis to read the room. Excuse a quick question, but didn’t he just play football?

“Are there rules as to when he should or not post about football on his football page? The man plays football and posts about football. It’s his job to play football and choose a day, any day he wants to post about it.”

Kelce, 35, has never spoken about his political affiliations. However, his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, has openly and continuously slammed Trump and his ideologies.
