“It’s been overwhelming,” said Kayla, wiping her eyes as she referenced her experience of “going through a public breakup.”
In another clip in the preview, contestant Alana Blanchard approaches Kayla to ask who her ex is, and Kayla whispers back, “Travis Kelce.”
Since Travis started dating one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, Kayla has been the subject of much online scrutiny.

Back in October 2023, Kayla took to Instagram to post a powerful message detailing her experiences receiving a barrage of hate as a Black woman. The post was met with many positive and supportive responses, including some from friends and family of other NFL stars.
Last month, Kayla addressed the hate she has received on an episode of the Unapologetically Angel podcast. “I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just online chaos doesn’t impact me,” she said. “You could go to my most recent post and it’ll be people debating why I’m worthless and how I’ll never be a talented person.”

When asked by host Angel Reese about the reasons behind the backlash, Kayla said, “I think that there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, and it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.”
Since he and Taylor went public, Travis has undoubtedly been launched into the public eye more than ever before. But he seems to be handling it well — in an interview with CBS Mornings in September 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said, “It's the life I chose. I have fun with it. It comes with the territory.”
