Travis Kelce’s Ex Kayla Nicole Reveals Details of Their Split in an Unexpected Way

A public breakup is never easy, but it probably was traumatic for Travis Kelce‘s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole when he moved on with the world’s most famous pop star, Taylor Swift. Fans will get an inside look at how the 33-year-old influencer handled the emotional aspects of the split in the upcoming season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

The third season of the Fox series released a trailer on Nov. 25 and viewers were teased about what she had to say about her ex. 

“Going through a public breakup,” Nicole said while sobbing, “It’s been overwhelming.”

A second clip shows another cast member, Alana Blanchard, asking her who she used to date. Nicole peeks around the corner and whispers, “Travis Kelce.” Oh, the drama this reality show is going to deliver when it premieres on Jan. 8, 2025!

Nicole admitted in the past that Swifties have not made it easy for her as she’s tried to move on. “I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just online chaos doesn’t impact me,” Kayla revealed on the Unapologetically Angel podcast in October. “You could go to my most recent post and it’ll be people debating why I’m worthless and how I’ll never be a talented person.”

It’s unfair for Nicole to be compared to Swift since they are both successful women who just happened to date the NFL star — and the online bullying shouldn’t be happening. “I think there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people,” Nicole added. “And it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.”

The other difficult aspect of her Kelce split was the loss of her NFL friends, particularly Brittany and Patrick Mahomes. She was a bridesmaid in their February 2022, but they now no longer speak. She unfollowed the couple on Instagram after Kelce began dating Swift. 

“I do think it’s important to publicly address this because I did publicly unfollow people,” she explained to People in October 2023. “The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I’ve communicated to these people why I’ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made.” During her appearance on the Unapologetically Angel podcast, she confirmed that they were no longer friends. 

Kelce and Nicole shared an on-again, off-again relationship that began in 2017. They split in August 2020 and rekindled their romance, but eventually broke up for good in May 2022. Hopefully, the Special Forces appearance will allow Nicole to put the romance behind her for good.
