Move over Natalia Grace! From the network behind The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, comes a new Investigation Discovery series, The Curious Case Of …, delving into some of the most shocking true crimes and scandals.

What Is ‘The Curious Case Of … ’ About?

From the producers of The Curious Case Of Natalia Grace, The Curious Case Of …. “will uncover deceit, greed, and manipulation and offer key access to shocking, first-hand accounts” as they investigate true crime cases, according to the press release.

The docuseries follows a team led by legal analyst Beth Karas as she uses her legal expertise and insight to “prove the truth is much more chilling than fiction.”

The series will consist of six episodes, each exploring “new curious cases.”

What Will Happen During ‘The Curious Case Of … ’?

This season, fans will learn about six real-life cases “exposing bizarre secrets, shattered lives, and twisted motives.”

In the extended season premiere episode, the ID series delves into the sobriety journey of Jackass star Bam Margera. “The premiere examines whether Margera’s path to sobriety spiraled into complete chaos after being caught in the crosshairs of two unique personalities,” the press release teased. “When BJ Corville, a lawyer and YouTuber passionate about celebrity conservatorships, discovers Margera is in a legal guardianship led by tech entrepreneur Lima Jeramovic, who is using her VR technology to treat Margera’s addiction; Corville takes action online to expose Margera’s situation. But what starts as a digital disagreement between the two soon evolves into a complicated situation, with real-world consequences.”

The episode features access to Jeramovic, Corville, and Margera, along with interviews with the former MTV personality’s family and his former Jackass costar, Steve-O.

“He said, if I ever saw his children, I should run the other way and call 911 because there was only reason why they would be here, to kill me,” a woman recounted during the trailer. Meanwhile, another added, “Our homes were filled with cats. Cats, cats, cats, cats. They were to be the vessels that would save all of us.”

The trailer featured the story of preacher Sheryl Ruthven, a self-proclaimed prophet who manipulated her followers into submission, ultimately exploiting them to settle her personal vendettas.

“As her beliefs grow increasingly bizarre, she demands her congregation adopt cats, believing the animals’ souls will save them in the impending apocalypse,” according to the press release. “Her manipulation drives followers into intense isolation, financial ruin, and bizarre rituals, tearing families apart and exploiting loyalty – all under the promise of salvation.”

When Does ‘The Curious Case Of ….’ Premiere?

The Curious Case Of … premieres on Monday, January 13, on Investigation Discovery. New episodes of the docuseries are set to air weekly.
