Trump Campaign May Think It Can 'Sneak' Three Democratic States: Karl Rove

2 months ago 3

Veteran GOP strategist Karl Rove says that Donald Trump's campaign might believe that it can "sneak" victories in at least three blue states on Tuesday night.

Rove, a former top adviser to ex-President George W. Bush, pointed out during a Fox News appearance on Tuesday afternoon that Trump and running mate JD Vance were making late campaign stops in New Hampshire, New Mexico and Virginia. This could mean that the campaign "saw something" in internal polls that others had not detected in the three states, Rove said.

"Obviously, they saw something in three states that was not seen generally because in the final days of the campaign the former president went to Salem, Virginia; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and his running mate went to New Hampshire," Rove said. "They must be looking at some data that suggests to them that they've got a chance to sneak these states and perhaps some others."

He went on: "There's only one reason you go to a state in the final days of the campaign, and that is to reach voters who are going to make a difference and bring in the electoral votes of that state to your column."

Rove also said he would expect early returns in Northern Virginia to show that Trump is performing better than usual for the former president to have a realistic chance of snatching a surprise victory.
