TV star being show's eldest means nothing as she 'looks the best of franchise'

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Katsanevas has fooled everyone. She’s officially 50 years old, but viewers have been convinced she’s just 35 since she began starring on the Bravo show.

Angie K and her husband Shawn Trujillo have been together for over 24 years. It was when The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star shared this news that fans were left utterly baffled.

Angie Katsanevas is 50 years old

Angie K is 50 years old, much to the shock of fans. She owns 10 hair salons in the Salt Lake City area, having purchased the hillside estate with her husband in 2020, after it was built.

Born on November 17 1973, Angie took a while to join RHOSLC. She joined the cast in September 2023, and was introduced as Jen Shah’s friend before becoming a full-time cast member.

She auditioned for RHOSLC back in 2019, but they only saw her potential recently. Wise like her years, the business owner, wife, and mother, has been a hairdresser since she was 21, and has a 13-year-old child.

A Reddit thread was launched to discuss Angie’s real age. One fan wrote, “When I tell y’all my mouth dropped open when she said she got married at 25 at their 25th wedding anniversary.”

Another penned, “She looks great, I’m surprised she drinks, obviously she’s had work done but her skin looks amazing,” while a fan said, “I think it’s that she doesn’t feel 50. Her essence is decades younger.”

Not everyone agrees, though. Some thought she was 50 already, with one writing, “I love Angie and she looks good but she very much looks her age, maybe a few years younger but not 35.”

She’s had a 24-year relationship

Angie has been in a relationship with business partner and husband, Shawn Trujillo, for 24 years, and known each other for 30. The spouses, who wed in 1999, are the founders of Lunatic Fringe Salons.

A hairstylist and fitness lover, Shawn Trujillo became The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s newest house-husband in season 4. He met Angie when she was assisting in a salon at 19 years old.

“I see this hot guy with huge muscles blow drying hair, and I thought ‘I’ve got to get to know this guy.’ Good looking, muscles, and he could do my hair? It was love at first sight,” explained Angie.
